At one point, the protesters staged a die-in inside the Nordstrom's shoe department.
Police arrested nine of the protesters and a tractor-trailer driver after he did not stop on Fayetteville Road for demonstrators. The driver allegedly tried to drive through protesters lying in the street. But while he was charged by police, a magistrate dismissed the case after not finding probable cause he intended to injure or strike the protesters.
The protest ended around 8:30 p.m.
Some said the arrests were worth it in the names of Michael Brown -- who was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri -- and Eric Garner -- who died following an altercation with police officer Daniel Pantaleo in Staten Island, NY.
"Even though nothing happened to me personally that could have been my father my brother, it's not right, we want justice," protester Brandi Allen told ABC11.
Allen said her brother was one of the protesters arrested Wednesday night. There's no word yet on the names of those taken into custody and the charges they're facing. Police said they did find a stun gun on one of the protesters.
Two people also suffered minor injuries during the incident.
