Now City of Raleigh officials confirm with ABC11 all December events have been canceled.
The 2025 North Carolina AI and Cybersecurity Summit was the first of these events, scheduled to run from today until tomorrow. Organizers have contacted event attendees to let them know the symposium is looking for a new meeting space. There was no immediate word on where the conference will take place.
Advance Community Health, a local healthcare group, was set to host its holiday party at the convention center on Friday evening.

On Saturday, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association was set to host the Invitational Cheerleading Champions at the convention center. Leadership from NCHSAA said its team would be in contact with convention center staffers to discuss next steps throughout the day. After some discussion, the NCHSAA said it would postpone the event.
"Our priority is to find a safe, appropriate solution for our participants, coaches, officials, and families," the NCHSAA said Tuesday afternoon. "We are actively reviewing available options for the event and will provide an update as soon as plans are confirmed. We thank our member schools and the cheer community for their support and patience."
On Sunday, the convention center was set to host the Cheersport Raleigh Classic. A representative with Varsity Brands replied to questions about the status of the event via an email statement that said, "Our team is meeting with building and city officials today to discuss options and determine how this incident impacts the Cheersport Raleigh Classic."
Other events that have been canceled include AENC Trade Show and NC Tech Awards.
"Our thoughts are with the Downtown Raleigh community and the Raleigh Convention Center team following last night's fire," said a spokesperson for the NC Tech Awards. "We are relieved to learn that no injuries have been reported. We are in direct communication with venue leadership as they assess the impact of the incident, and we will provide updates to our attendees as soon as next steps are determined."
