Raleigh man collecting supplies for La. flood victims

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Although Chad McIntyre, owner of Eco-Tech Draft Systems, calls Raleigh home now, he is worried about his native Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has been watching the flooding in his hometown, and has decided to do something about it.

"I grew up in Central, which is one of the hardest hit areas now," McIntyre said. "When I see the news I see a lot of houses, actually where I know where they are, people grew up with me in those houses."

So, McIntyre took to Facebook and asked his followers to donate much needed supplies, including:

Work gloves
Disposable dust masks
Box knives (box cutters)
Large trash bags
Medium to large plastic bins (to store what didn't get wet)
Socks - men's, women's, children's sizes
Diapers - all sizes
Toilet paper
Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Bug spray
Home Depot gift cards

Donations can be dropped off at McIntyre's warehouse at 517 West Cabarrus Street in Raleigh or at the following locations until 11 a.m. Saturday:

Dram & Draught
RallyPoint Sport Grill
BREW at The Cary Theater
Person Street Pharmacy
House Of Hops
Compass Rose Brewery

McIntyre will be at Dram and Draught Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with his packed truck before he leaves town to deliver the donated items.

McIntyre has also partnered with a few Baton Rouge churches that will accept donations for flood victims.
