Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan return for 'The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen' for Disney

We've got some cheetahlicious news for you, cheetah sisters! A new "Cheetah Girls" movie is in the works!

"The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen" has officially been greenlit for Disney Channel and Disney+, bringing back Raven-Symoné as Galleria alongside Adrienne Bailon as Chanel and a special appearance from Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda.

Production begins in South Africa this month.



Symoné revealed a teaser post on Wednesday, about the new film.

The next generation of Cheetah Girls is comprised of a new cast, including Leah Sava' Jeffries ("Percy Jackson and the Olympians") as Galleria's daughter Faith, Carmen Sanchez ("Electric Bloom") as Chanel's sister Dior, Kaileen Chang as Ruby and Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn. Newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, a local South African actor is set as Kendi.



Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter are set to reprise their roles as Dorothea and Juanita, and Sophia Bush is set to appear in a supporting role as Jennifré. Symoné also serves as an executive producer with Debra Martin Chase ("The Cheetah Girls, "The Princess Diaries"). Bailon is a co-producer.

According to Disney, "the story picks up when Cheetah Girls Galleria (Symoné) and Chanel (Bailon), alongside Galleria's daughter Faith (Jeffries) and her three friends, travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. Along the way, these four teen girls test their friendship, find their voice and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls."

"The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen" comes after "The Cheetah Girls" (2003), "The Cheetah Girls 2" (2006) and "The Cheetah Girls: One World" (2008). The original trilogy starred Symoné as Galleria, Bailon as Chanel, Bryan as Dorinda and Kiely Williams as Aqua.



The films are based on "The Cheetah Girls" book series by Deborah Gregory and are streaming now on Disney+.
