Rocky Mount police announce 2 arrests in January homicide case

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with a January homicide, Rocky Mount Police said.

The shooting took place around 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 17 in the 100 block of Riverside Drive. Responding officers found a person with gunshot wounds. The victim died from their injuries at ECU Health Medical Center.

On Feb. 22, investigators with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrested Gregory Jason Harper, 26, of Enfield, in connection with the deadly shooting. Harper was charged with one count of first-degree murder and was taken to the Halifax County Jail, where he was held without bond.

On Thursday, Rocky Mount police officers arrested Taheem Shaamad Scott, 30, of Rocky Mount. Scott was charged with one count of first-degree murder and taken to the Nash County Jail, where he was also held without bond.
