A Wake County grand jury handed up the indictment related to 26-year-old Solomon Thomas Owen's shootout with a Raleigh SWAT team as the officers attempted to arrest him in connection with the shooting death of Joseph "Joey" Adams.
Owens is charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm for the Raleigh charges.
In late February, the Raleigh Police Department released its five-day report giving new details of the exchange of fire between Owens and police at an apartment complex in north Raleigh.
