The Lung Run, hosted by the Filotimo Foundation, takes place on December 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fenton in Cary.
The event was formed when friends of the foundation's founder, Pete Proimos, learned of his cystic fibrosis diagnosis and wanted to make a difference.
Those friends, Nemanja Savic and Lewis Lovell, will complete four marathons in four consecutive days, with the final marathon run around Wake Med Soccer Park.
Participants in The Lung Run can join in them at the Soccer Park walking or running as far as they want with a culminating celebration at the Cary Fenton.
The celebration includes:

- Local pop-up vendors
- Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
