Fayetteville police announced Tuesday morning that 43-year-old Boris Abbey had been located, and thanked the public for their assistance.
Officials said Tuesday afternoon that they had also made contact with 45-year-old Christy Woods after she was reported missing following Matthew.

Meanwhile, flooding continues to plague the area, along with power outages. Cumberland County Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Water still rising in Spring Lake area
A boil water advisory also remains in effect in Fayetteville after a city-wide running water outage Saturday night. Spring Lake, Sanford and Lee County are also under a boil water advisory.

Residents can go to the following locations to pick up free water provided by emergency management officials. One case per family please.

- J.W. Seabrook Elementary School, 4619 NC HWY 210 S, Fayetteville
- District 7 Elementary School, 5721 Smithfield Rd., Wade

Fayetteville officials said they made over 200 swift water rescues in which 574 people were rescued during the weekend.

The hundreds of pending emergency calls are being prioritized by life-threatening needs. Out-of-state rescue teams from New York, New Jersey and Ohio helped in the city.
