Police have advised the public to avoid the area until further notice.
Chopper 11 spotted a significant police presence that included K-9 officers.
K-9s searched around the stadium and inside, on the bleachers.
Just before 5 p.m., UNC officials said the investigation was continuining, but had no further details. At 6 p.m., university officials remained tight-lipped.
The area around Kenan Stadium has been evacuated. Employees at the Bell Tower have been asked to move their cars and leave the area "for safety."
