Linda Edwards, 51, was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
On Sunday, deputies responded just after 5 p.m. to a home in the 220 block of Gail Ridge Lane, near Wendell.
They found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover.
The sheriff's office said the incident was believed to stem from domestic violence.
The case remains under investigation.
