Weekend shootings leave 2 dead, 1 injured in Hoke County

RAEFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- Hoke County deputies are investigating two weekend shooting incidents, including one that left a man and a woman dead.

The sheriff's office said it responded for a welfare check just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 2000 block of Quigley Court in Raeford, Deputies saw the door was open and walked in to find a man dead on the floor. As they went further inside the home, they found a woman dead.

The identities of the two people have not been released. The incident remains under investigation.

On Saturday, deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. to the 4000-block of Laurinburg Road in Raeford for a shooting call.



They found a man with a single gunshot wound to the arm. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital and was described as stable.

A suspect was taken into custody at the scene, but was later released pending further investigation.
