The investigation started Oct. 10 when the woman called deputies to report fraud. The woman reported that $80,000 had been stolen from her. She said it happened after someone contacted her, claiming there was an issue with her online payment system.
According to the arrest warrants obtained by ABC11, the suspect posed as an agent for Wells Fargo named "Anna."
A month after the investigation started, on Nov. 10, the sheriff's office, with assistance from the Cary Police Department, took Yanru Cui, 28, into custody.
Cui is charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretense and two counts of exploitation of an older adult or disabled adult.
The warrants show that Cui has a Durham address.

The incident remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
