Western Governors University cuts ribbon for new Raleigh offices

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- One of the nation's leading online universities is expanding its business here in North Carolina.

Western Governors University held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday for its new 48,000-square-foot office in the Glenlake Office Park on Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh.

The office will eventually house as many as 300 employees and will be WGU's largest office outside of its headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"And so, we really love the access to the incredible talent pool that exists here in the greater Raleigh area," said Scott Pusipher, president of WGU. "And that allows us to continue to ensure that we are able to attract the talent that we need to innovate on behalf of the students that we serve across the nation."



WGU has been operating in North Carolina for nine years. In that time, it has awarded nearly $9 million in scholarships to students in North Carolina.
