Woman charged in deadly Creedmoor shooting

CREEDMOOR, N.C. (WTVD) -- Creedmoor police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting.

It happened last Saturday at a home in the 1600 block of Irving Place.

When officers arrived shortly after 4:15 p.m., they found 27-year-old Charles Tryon Royster shot to death.

Kelly Marie Royster, 38, was arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with murder.

She was taken to the Granville County Detention Center and held without bond.



Police have not said what the connection was between the two people involved.

"This arrest reflects the dedication, professionalism, and relentless commitment of our team," said Creedmoor Police Chief Troy Wheless. "I want to personally thank every member of the Creedmoor Police Department who worked tirelessly on this case. From the first responding officers to our detectives, this was truly a team effort. We will continue working diligently to hold all those responsible for this incident while ensuring the safety of everyone who lives, works, and visits Creedmoor."

The investigation remains active, police said, and additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming.
