Woman found shot and killed outside Cumberland County home

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman was shot and killed Thursday night in a neighborhood in Gray's Creek, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to a home in the 4800 block of Backbay Road off Tom Starling Road east of I-95.

The woman was found shot dead in front of the home.

Deputies have not released the woman's name.

The sheriff's office said the shooting was not random, and there appears to be no threat to the public.



A suspect is in custody.
