According to RPD, the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. near the northwest corner of Pullen Park. A man was hit by an Amtrak passenger train traveling through the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Amtrak, the Amtrak Train 91 was traveling from New York to Miami. No injuries were reported among the passengers and crew members onboard.
Amtrak is working with local law enforcement to investigate.
