According to the Raleigh Police Department. officers responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 3900 block of Green Road just after 11:15 a.m. Police said an officer found a person matching the description of the man near the location of the original call. The officer was detaining the armed suspect when a struggle began and he ran away.
Police then began searching the area for the suspect.
Police said a preliminary investigation found that an RPD officer fired their gun during the incident causing property damage with no injuries.
Police are continuing to search for the suspect.
This is an ongoing investigation.
