'It's terrible': Girl shot early Sunday morning in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating after a young girl was shot early Sunday morning.

Officers responded about 6:50 a.m. to the 1300 block of Park Glen Drive off of North Raleigh Boulevard for a shooting call.

They found an underage girl who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Nobody has been arrested in the shooting and the investigation into what happened remains open and ongoing.

"I think it's terrible. I think it's terrible for anybody of any age to be shot for whatever reason. There must be another way to handle things," Janice Andrews said.

Andrews was getting ready for church when police arrived in her neighborhood to investigate the shooting. She said she does not know the victim but does know that gunshots can be heard in her neighborhood regularly.
