Wake County, Orange County, Johnston County, Granville County, Wayne County, Wilson County, Franklin County and Moore County have all announced that schools will be closed Friday. Halifax County announced Thursday afternoon that it, too, will close, as did Vance County.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools made the decision to close Friday as well. This includes Community Schools and other after-school programs and activities.
Extracurricular activities on Saturday and Sunday will be canceled and/or postponed to a later date.
Durham Public Schools and Lee County Schools announced they would make Friday a remote learning day, as did Chatham County and Cumberland County.

How to report a closing to ABC11
If you are in charge of closings for a school of business, the only way to report your organization's closing or delay to ABC11 is by using our online system. The phone system that was used in the past is not operational. Your ID code from the phone system remains the same and it also serves as your Pass Code into the online system.
