The Raleigh Police Department responded to calls about a shooting just before 5:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Shades Place. when officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Just after 6:30 p.m., Raleigh police responded to reports of another shooting in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital with what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
Police said both shootings appear to be isolated incidents.
Police have not said if the shootings are connected.
