Murder suspect turns himself in 7 days after shooting following argument over misplaced cellphone

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WTVD) -- The man police said shot and killed another man over a cellphone dispute turned himself in Monday night.

The shooting happened on Kay Drive on Jan. 22 around 5 p.m.

Smithfield Police Department said Markyse Naijae McCain, 20, got into a dispute with Antwane Deshawn Fellows, 30. Investigators said the argument was over a misplaced cellphone.

McCain is now behind bars at the Johnston County Jail accused of first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.
