His organization got a big boost in their effort thanks to a generous donation from a local grocery store.
Seth Wofford is a typical 11-year-old boy who enjoys playing sports and video games. That's not all he likes to do; he also enjoys helping those in need.
"It makes me feel good they are being fed, because they don't have a lot," Seth said.
About three years ago, Seth and his mom started an organization called Seth's Wish. The name of the organization came about because Seth actually wished he could help feed the homeless living in the downtown Fayetteville community. That wish has come true.
"We have burger days and taco days. In the summer, we try to do a lot of pasta salad," said Lindsey Wofford, Seth's mom.
The organization serves more than 100 meals weekly. Recently, the neighborhood Food Lion got wind of the good deeds Seth and his mom were serving up, and they came knocking with a generous donation.
"I did not know it was going to be $3,000. It was a good surprise that was exciting," Lindsey Wofford said.
It's donations like this that keep the organization afloat. Aside from lending a helping hand to those in need, Seth's other true wish is for others to follow his lead.
"I am actually hoping that us doing this will inspire other people to do great things like this," Seth said.
