"I just planted my foot and felt it pop," Olsen told reporters after the game. "I just knew something wasn't right."
Olsen has been one of QB Cam Newton's favorite targets, piling up over 1,000 yards receiving each of the last three seasons. He had also started 81 consecutive games, third most in Panthers history.
Newton and the offense struggled most of the way against Buffalo failing to score a touchdown despite three trips inside the Bills 20 yard line. Field goals were enough to get Carolina to 2-0, but with the Saints on deck and Patriots in the hole, field goals won't cut it. Ideally Olsen won't need surgery and will be back before long.
