Starting Tuesday, Durham Public Schools Nutrition Services will host its summer food service program for students in Durham. And in Wake County, a similar service began Monday.

The Durham County Public Library will host a launch event at Oxford Manor's recreation center at 3633 Keystone Place from noon until 1 p.m.
To qualify for the free meals children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals.
School systems launch summer meals programs
WAKE COUNTY
WCPSS began its program Monday at the Wake County Northern Regional Center, 350 E Holding Ave. in Wake Forest.
On Tuesday, the program will begin at Historic Oak View County Park, at 4028 Carya Drive in Raleigh. On Wednesday, the meal program will be available at the Black Farmers Hub (1409 Cross St.) and the Poe Center for Health Education (224 Sunnybrook Road), both in Raleigh.

Cumberland County Schools will offer free summer meals through July 28 and Orange County Schools will serve meals through Aug. 5.
Summer meal sites can be located across the state by texting FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304.
