Last October, 38-year-old Nicholas Daniels sent multiple Facebook messages to Todd Johnson, a member of the North Carolina Senate from the Republican party.

In these messages, Daniels threatened to kill Johnson, Johnson's wife and their kids.
He was charged with multiple counts of threatening an executive legal court officer and communicating threats. He has a prior felony conviction out of Ohio.

During his court appearance on Wednesday, Daniels spoke out of turn. He told the judge that he did not send those messages and that his Facebook account was hacked.
Daniels was given a $100,000 bond and scheduled to return to court Feb. 28.
