The crash happened on Raleigh Road at Highway 301 before 6 p.m. Friday. Officials say the driver of a Honda Accord, Christopher Ray Valdez, 27, went through the railroad crossing arms and hit a freight train traveling north.
Raleigh Road was closed for more than 3 hours while officers investigated.
Law enforcement has not released any further details about the crash.
