Back-to-school events across the Triangle this weekend

From Raleigh to Wake Forest, communities are coming together to support students with backpack giveaways, school supply drives, and family-friendly bashes.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- In preparation for the new school year, there are a few back-to-school events happening across the Triangle this weekend.

In Raleigh, Carolina Hurricanes player Jacob Slavin is joining the Back-to-School Bash with the Raleigh Dream Center. This is happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church on Louisburg Road.

The Boys and Girls Club of Johnston County is holding its Stuff-A-Bus event. It will be Saturday at the Walmart on Town Center Boulevard in Clayton from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In Wake Forest, Kids Street Urgent Care is holding a Back-to-School Bash, where they will give away 500 backpacks filled with school supplies. This kicks off Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wake Forest Middle School on South Main Street.
