RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Raleigh Police Department debuted its new patrol cruiser.

The wrapped pink patrol control will make the rounds in Raleigh through the month of October as a symbol of solidarity and hope.

"Thanks to tireless efforts of survivors, advocates, health care professionals and organizations, we've come a long way, and today, we speak openly, we share stories, we offer support, and we continue to make progress that saves lives," Raleigh Police Lt. David Davis said.

RPD's breast cancer awareness campaign is in partnership with WakeMed and the American Cancer Society.
