RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A new motion has been filed in the upcoming trial of accused Hedingham mass shooter Austin Thompson.
His lawyers are requesting a medical professional be present in the courtroom throughout the trial, citing a head injury that makes Thompson prone to seizures and in need of special medical attention. They are also seeking a special hearing to determine how to ensure his safety.
Thompson is accused of killing five people during a shooting spree in 2022, with his trial expected to start next month.
