DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Community members in Durham held a vigil Saturday night to honor those who have lost their lives to gun violence.
This followed multiple deadly shootings in the Bull City in recent weeks, many involving young people. Attendees called for peace and a discussion on ways to combat gun violence.
Durham police report nine homicides so far this year.
On Friday, Mayor Leo Williams announced the city is partnering with the University of Maryland's Violence Reduction Center to develop anti-violence strategies.
