Former UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz is returning to the Carolinas after being named the next president of Clemson University.
Clemson's Board of Trustees unanimously approved Guskiewicz as the school's 16th president following a national search, with the announcement made May 27, 2026.
Guskiewicz most recently served as president of Michigan State University, a role he took on in 2024 after leaving Chapel Hill, where he spent nearly 30 years, including as chancellor from 2019 to 2024.
Guskiewicz is expected to begin his new role later this year
