DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- It was a special Saturday night in Durham as Duke Health hosted its annual hospice gala.

This year's theme was "Casino Night," bringing a fun twist to fundraising. Guests enjoyed dinner along with both silent and live auctions, all aimed at supporting Duke Hospice patients and services.

Proceeds from the event will help fund patient care and community programs, including grief counseling services offered in local schools.

The event is also personal for many in the ABC11 family.

ABC11 Vice President of Community Engagement Monica Barnes attended the gala and shared her experience as a caregiver for her mother. Joel Brown served as the evening's emcee.

ABC11 is a proud sponsor of the event.
