RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- President Emeritus Dr. Prezell Robinson dedicated much of his life to Saint Augustine's University (SAU). As the school's eighth president, he led the HBCU from 1967 to 1995.
Those who knew him say his legacy isn't just part of St. Aug's history that is woven into its very foundation.
Robinson's impact could be seen across the university for decades. During his 28 years as president. He grew enrollment, expanded the campus and strengthened fundraising. He left a lasting mark on student life, creating WAUG radio and TV stations.
The Dr. Prezell Robinson Library on campus stands as a reminder of his legacy.
Under his leadership, the track and field program also became an internationally recognized powerhouse.
