Severe weather risk this afternoon, damaging winds and hail main threats

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The warmth will come to an end in a big way behind some gusty thunderstorms tonight, as a more unsettled pattern takes hold into the weekend.

Showers are expected to move across the Triangle Friday morning as the air becomes more stable overnight.


Temperatures will drop down to the upper 40s with feels like temperatures in the 30s by mid afternoon for Friday.

On Saturday, we've dropped the high down to 48, with an increasing chance of a very rainy day with northeast cold flow. Rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2" over the next two days with a few areas flirting with nearly 3".
