ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Firefighters worked to extinguish a house fire in Zebulon early Tuesday evening.

It happened on Golden Plum Lane in the Weaver's Pond neighborhood off Zebulon Road North at US 264.

The call came in about 5:30 p.m., Zebulon Fire Chief Chris Perry said. The fire was under control in less than 30 minutes he said.

"There were two adults and four children that lived in the residence that were displaced due to the fire but no injuries to them, no injuries to the firefighters, no injuries at all," Perry said.

Chopper 11 was over the fire and it appeared the second floor sustained the bulk of the damage.

Hopkins Rural Fire Department and Wendell Fire Department responded to assist Zebulon crews.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
