Identities released of two killed in collision with Harnett County deputy during chase

SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) confirms a 65-year-old man and 64-year-old woman were killed and a Harnett County Sheriff's deputy was injured during a chase Friday afternoon.

NCSHP said the collision happened just after 2:00 p.m. on NC Highway 210 at the Ray Road intersection in Spring Lake.

According to the highway patrol, a Harnett County deputy was engaged in a pursuit on NC 210 south when the deputy collided with a truck driven by Brian Anthony Finch. Finch was making a turn at the Ray Road intersection when the deadly collision happened.

Patricia Lynn Finch who was a passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Brian Finch was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The two were from East Gull Lake, Minnesota, NCSHP said.

No update was given on the deputy's condition. He was taken to Womack Army Medical Center after the crash.

NCSHP said any information about the chase investigation will be released by the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.
