It happened just after 8:30 a.m. near the Highway 301 and Bay Valley Road intersection just outside of Kenly.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol was doing a speed enforcement in Wilson County when a black Dodge Charger passed troopers going 112 mph in the 55 mph zone near Oscar Loop Road.
Troopers started chasing after the black car, following it into Johnston County.
Just outside of Kenly, the black car crossed over into oncoming traffic and slammed into a white Ford pickup.

Two people in the pickup died in the crash; the truck's driver, a 52-year-old Clayton man, was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries. A man who witnessed the immediate aftermath of the crash told ABC11 that the driver of the Charger, a woman, seemed to be walking fine. However, the Highway Patrol said she was taken to WakeMed with significant injuries.

On Monday afternoon, the Highway Patrol identified the driver of the Charger as 45-year-old Tanya Renee Terry, of Roanoke Rapids. She'll be charged with felony speeding to elude, speeding 112-mph in a 55-mph zone, and two counts of second-degree murder.
The two victims who died in the crash were identified as Marvin Daye Atkinson, 43, of Selma, and Thatis Eugene Mickens, 56, also of Selma.
The road was reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.
