As acting Governor, Lt. Governor Mark Robinson issues proclamation in support of Israel

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson held a special event Thursday while he is acting governor. Robinson issued a proclamation in support of Israel as it is embroiled in a war with Hamas.



The North Carolina constitution gives lieutenant governor powers of the governor when that person is out of the state. Governor Roy Cooper is traveling to Japan right now to lead the North Carolina delegation at an economic summit in Tokyo.

Cooper has left the state several times during his time as Governor; Robinson has never called any press conferences or taken official action during those previous trips, according to our newsgathering partners at the News & Observer.
