A wind advisory that was in effect for the Triangle-area from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. has ended.
Showers made their way across the western part of the area throughout the evening causing thousands to lose power.
As of 11 p.m., nearly 3,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in the Triangle.
Power has been restored to most.
Flight Diverted
Friday night's weather caused a Southwest flight bound for RDU to be diverted to Myrtle Beach. Southwest said those passengers arrived at RDU around 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
RDU reported some continued weather-related disruptions to flights after storms pounded many parts of the nation on Friday evening into Saturday.

Saturday will be breezy with highs in the 60s. Temps are expected to dip a touch on Sunday. But, warm conditions will continue into early next week.
