2 found dead on front lawn after NC officers respond to service call in Franklin Co, SBI assisting

LOUISBURG, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Lake Royale Company Police and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating after two people were found dead in Louisburg.

According to the agency, employees with Lake Royale Company Police responded to a call for service around 9:33 Friday morning and found two people dead at an address on Sunlight Cove.

The two were found dead on the front lawn of the home, according to the police chief.

Lake Royale Police called for assistance, the SBI says. Agents from the SBI's Capital District and crime scene agents responded to the scene.

The SBI is asking people to avoid the area while officers and agents conduct their investigation. They say there is no threat to the public.
