Michael Sanders, 43, is charged with killing his mother.
The stabbing happened at the Heritage Court Apartments on East Main Street.
Clayton Police found 65-year-old Robie Sanders suffering from multiple stab wounds. She died at the scene.

The new court documents reveal that a maintenance man was inside the apartment when the attack happened.
They also say that Sanders confessed to killing his mother after the stabbing but told investigators that he didn't mean to kill her.
He remains held without bond.
