FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A grandmother is facing charges after she allegedly killed her grandchild by starving the baby.

Cornelia Moore, 54, was arrested last week in Fayetteville.

She's accused of starving a child to death who was just 39 days old.

Moore lives in Fayetteville.

According to court documents, the baby was deprived of food and liquids needed to survive.

It appears the child died on May 3 and the arrest warrant was issued last Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Moore was the caretaker of the baby.

She's facing murder and child abuse charges.
