DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Duke officials announced on Wednesday that the chief executive officer (CEO) of Duke University Health System (DUHS) will resign at the end of September.
Dr. Craig Albanese has served as CEO at Duke Health since 2023.
Duke Health said Craig has accepted a new role as the president of Kaiser Permanente, a nonprofit integrated health system based in Oakland, California.
"Under Craig's leadership, DUHS expanded its reach and impact across the state, advanced innovation in patient care, and strengthened its culture of compassion, respect and belonging," DUHS President Vincent E. Price said. "I am grateful for his outstanding service to Duke and his dedication to advancing health and healthcare."
DUHS said an interim management structure will be implemented until a new CEO is named.
