ABC11 learned that Ericka Ruffin Lucas is still recovering in the hospital, according to family.
While the Cougar's school colors are red, white, and blue, blue has a different meaning this particular night.
Wake Forest High School football coach Reggie Lucas' wife Ericka is recovering after being hit by gunfire meant for someone else.
"It's really important for us to show support and Wake Forest always treat us like a family. And that's really where I think we want to return the favor," said parent Kevin Packler.

The incident happened late Friday night on Aug. 29, in the area of East Nelson Avenue. Police said Ericka was hit by gunfire and taken to the hospital.
The shooting shocked many who found out the shooter was a teen.
"It's the community that I grew up in. And it doesn't surprise me that they came out in full force like this for her," said parent Zach Bishop.
Love for Ericka runs deep, who is the former principal at Rolesville High School.
ABC11 met one of her former students from her days at a middle school physical education teacher.
"She brought a whole new spirit and enthusiasm to gym class as a young, naive middle schooler. So I have very cherished memories," said Bishop.
Fans at the game want the Lucas family to be encouraged, and know thousands are standing with them.
