Tono Branch says this isn't the first time she's heard gunfire on her street.
"When they're shooting, I run in the bathroom and I hear the shots and it goes on and on and on, I can't count them. It's scary," she says.
She says she heard first responders arriving Friday evening.
"I was sitting in my kitchen and I hear the ambulance going 100 miles an hour," she says.
Tono says she's always afraid that one day her home will get hit.
Instead, it was across the street, hitting Ericka Lucas.
A 16-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting, police said. The teen has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.
Tono just hopes things can change, and was shocked to learn someone so young pulled the trigger..
These younger ones are learning from the older ones, but they're still trying to be tough," she says.
The shooting remains under investigation. No additional information has been released about the teenager facing charges in the shooting.
