FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fayetteville Police have been working for months to identify a dead woman who was dropped off at a funeral home. So far, efforts have been unsuccessful, but on Wednesday, investigators released a new sketch of the woman in hopes that someone will provide some clues.

The case has been assigned a dedicated Missing Persons Detective. Holly Vernon, who is part of the Homicide Unit, is the newly dedicated investigator for all missing persons cases within the city limits.

Sometime between May 15-19, an unknown person dropped off the body and left it inside a funeral home in the 3800 block of Raeford Road. Funeral home workers discovered that the woman did not have the proper paperwork and called police.

In July, police released a digital image using a photo of the woman. Now, FPD has released an updated sketch.
