After receiving tips, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) conducted an investigation at Bunn Tavern on Main Street.. Four people were arrested, with charges pending against a fifth, totaling 41 charges, including 21 felonies and 20 misdemeanors.
Among those arrested, charges range from drug offenses to gambling and alcohol violations. Authorities seized cocaine, Adderall pills, and $6,542 in cash.
The investigation also uncovered administrative violations at the tavern, including drug sales by employees and numerous alcohol and gambling infractions. A violation report will be submitted to the NC ABC Commission.
The arrested individuals include:
- Michell Desiree Thrall, 40, of Louisburg, charged with 10 felonies and 14 misdemeanors
- Sharon Ray McCloud, 62, of Wake Forest, charged with four misdemeanor gambling and alcohol offenses
- Brandon Michael Abercrombie, 39, of Wake Forest, charged with three drug-related felonies
- Kenneth Lee Schwartz, 40, of Franklinton, charged with five felonies and two misdemeanors
Warrants are outstanding for Deana Leggett, 55, of Bunn, who faces three drug-related felonies. The investigation is ongoing, with additional charges expected.
