Wake Forest police seek Durham man after pursuit ended in crash

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Wake Forest police are searching for a Durham man accused of leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash involving an uninvolved vehicle.

According to the Wake Forest Police Department, officers obtained an arrest warrant Saturday for 47-year-old John Flowers Jr. of Durham. Investigators identified Flowers as the driver of a vehicle that fled from police last Wednesday evening.

Police said the pursuit ended when a pursuing officer crashed into an uninvolved vehicle near Holloway Street and Raynor Street in Durham. The driver of that vehicle and a passenger were taken to a hospital.



Flowers faces several charges, including:
  • Fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle
  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding
  • Driving while license revoked




Investigators also said Flowers has been identified as a person of interest in a series of organized retail thefts at home improvement stores across the area.
