Neighbors in Damar Court put up balloons and candles to remember their friend.
Family members and friends who gathered on Thursday shared memories of the teen with ABC11.
"He was a good dude, a kind dude. Anything you need, anything you could ask for he got you. If you ask for $5 he would give it to you," said Devon Burnette, Friend.
Police said the teen was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle after the shooting that happened just before 8 p.m. on Sherwood Drive. He was later pronounced dead.
"This is someone who parents had hopes and dreams for them. And this is someone who within themselves had lost the potential of the life, " said Mayor Leo Williams.
A man was also injured during the shooting. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Police have not released any other details about the shooting or any arrests.
