CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers were sent to the hospital after a shooting during a traffic stop.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Nations Ford Road and Arrowood Road. The officers were responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call when they pulled over a vehicle they thought could be involved.
While the officers were talking with a suspect in the car, the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said both officers were injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital, although one was merely taken as a precaution.
The suspect was also rushed to the hospital. They have life-threatening injuries.
